Hospital trusts across West Yorkshire and Harrogate are warning of long waiting times for patients to be seen in their Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments. In some cases, patients may be waiting for up to 12 hours, whilst the treatment of those with life-threatening illness or injury is prioritised.
Despite the removal of all legal restrictions in England to isolate if you have tested positive for COVID-19, hospitals across West Yorkshire and Harrogate continue to treat a significant numbers of patients suffering from the COVID-19 variant Omicron.
Hospital trusts in West Yorkshire and Harrogate collectively release this information at 2pm on a Thursday on a weekly basis to provide the media and public with an overview of the current position within the regional and local NHS.
